CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The West Virginia Lottery and IGT Global Solutions Corporation have entered into a seven-year contract which will provide the West Virginia Lottery with a new traditional-lottery central system, new lottery retail and self-service customer terminals, a redundant, multi-technology communications network, a Lottery mobile convenience app, and ongoing services. The contract, which is slated to start on June 28, 2018, allows for three one-year renewal options and is the result of a recent procurement process.

The new mobile convenience app, technology and services that this agreement will bring to all of our stakeholders is tremendous,” West Virginia Lottery Director Alan Larrick said. “This agreement will allow us to improve our operations, improve the player experience, and maximize our return from traditional lottery to the people of West Virginia.”
The convenience app for mobile phone and tablet users will provide a variety of services to West Virginia Lottery players, and will be both developed and maintained by IGT. The Mobile App will be launched in conjunction with the Lottery gaming system conversion next year. This new mobile solution will provide Lottery players with an easy and convenient platform to obtain game information, check tickets for prize redemption at retail, create digital play slips that generate QR codes to help speed transactions and ease of play, as well as provide the Lottery with seamless integration into IGT’s new Aurora gaming system platform.
The Lottery will receive several components of IGT’s Aurora™ platform including Aurora Navigator back-office applications, IGT’s Aurora Performance Intel solution, comprehensive business intelligence and analytics tool that provides detailed insights, and IGT’s Aurora Retailer Wizard solution that will help West Virginia Lottery retailers more effectively manage their businesses, interact with the Lottery, and drive results. The West Virginia Lottery will also have Aurora OnePlace that will provide Lottery field sales personnel with updated tools for sales and inventory management at retail locations across the State.
The Lottery will also receive new equipment at retail, including IGT’s full function Altura™ Flex draw-based lottery terminal offering a smaller footprint to optimize retail space and functionality for retailers, and IGT’s Aurora™ MultiMedia in-store signage. The Lottery will also benefit from an enhanced communications solution for more than half of its retailer network with IGT’s patented Dual Comm Inside, an innovative pairing of next-generation VSAT technology with 4G cellular, to offer the highest network availability in the lottery industry.
IGT will maintain its primary and backup data centers in West Virginia, providing services to the West Virginia Lottery including installation and maintenance of the new system platform, terminals, and communications network; retailer training; field services; telemarketing sales and services; and instant ticket warehousing and distribution.
IGT also recently signed a four-year contract with the West Virginia Lottery to provide all of the Lottery’s instant ticket printing business, following a separate competitive bid process. IGT has partnered with the West Virginia Lottery to provide services since 2009.
