West Virginia Produces A $50,000 Powerball Ticket in Three Straight Drawings

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – West Virginia Lottery Powerball players have been on a hot streak. For the third consecutive Powerball drawing, a ticket that is worth $50,000 was sold in West Virginia.

“Always check your ticket. Powerball is much more than just the top prize and the second and third-tier prizes are significant. These three tickets matched four numbers plus the Powerball number and came just one white ball away from the jackpot,” said West Virginia Lottery Director John Myers. “Had any of these three lucky $50,000 winners played the Power Play option for an additional dollar, they would have doubled their winnings to $100,000.”

The most recent $50,000 Powerball winning ticket, for the Wednesday, October 16 draw, was sold at Kroger #813 on Suncrest Town Centre Drive in Morgantown. Another $50,000 winning ticket was sold at the 7-Eleven on West Washington St. in Harpers Ferry for the Saturday, October 12 draw, and the first of the $50,000 Powerball tickets was sold at the King Street BP in Martinsburg for the Wednesday, October 9 drawing.

The winning numbers for the Wednesday, October 16, 2019 drawing were: 1-5-25-63-67 and the Powerball number was 3. The winning numbers for the Saturday, October 12, 2019 drawing were: 12-29-34-53-65 and the Powerball number was 23, while the winning numbers for the Wednesday, October 9, 2019 drawing were 5-18-33-43-65 and the Powerball was 2. The Power Play number for all three drawings was x2.

The three tickets have not yet been claimed. Players have 180 days from a draw date to claim their prize. The lucky ticket holders are encouraged to sign the back of their tickets and to contact the West Virginia Lottery at 304-558-0500 for details on how to claim.

The Powerball jackpot for next Saturday has grown to an estimated $110 million. Powerball tickets cost just $2, or $3 with the Power Play option that increases non-jackpot prize winnings, and can be purchased at any West Virginia Lottery retailer.
