Jane Lew Resident Wins $50,000 Playing Bass Pro Shops Outdoor Cash

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – West Virginia Lottery Director John C. Musgrave announced today that William Sartin of Jane Lew, W.Va., has claimed a $50,000 prize from the $5 instant game Bass Pro Shops® Outdoor Cash.

Sartin purchased the winning ticket at the Prima 7-11 in Jane Lew.

“I play the lottery regularly and I started scratching just the numbers at the top (not the prize amounts below) and then I saw a code I have never seen,” Sartin said. “Then I scratched the prizes underneath and I started shaking. Holy cow!”

Sartin said he was preparing to go out of town for several days on a golf trip, when he stopped at another store to buy some items. As luck would have it, the store he stopped at did not have the particular type of french onion dip that he wanted. That caused him to go into the Prima 7-11 where he decided to buy some lottery tickets in addition to the french onion dip.

“I have to have that certain type of chip dip. I love it and as funny as it sounds thats the reason I ended up buying my lottery ticket where I did on that particular day,” Sartin said.

Sartin says he will using his winnings to pay bills.
