Nearly 600 Permits Bid in Limited Video Lottery Bid Process

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Approximately 216 bids were received for 587 permits and are under review from the West Virginia Lottery’s limited video lottery permit bid opening that was conducted today at Lottery Headquarters in Charleston.

The high bid was $7,540 and the low bid matched the minimum acceptable bid of $2,000. The average was estimated at $3,094 per permit and that will generate an estimated $1.8 million in permit fees.

“We are pleased with the bids and we look forward to getting these machines in those locations as soon as possible,” West Virginia Lottery Director Alan Larrick said. “We should have official results from the bid opening finalized next week.”

The bid process was limited to existing permit holders and a total of 750 permits were available in accordance with HB3106.
