The Mega Millions & Powerball Jackpots are Both Above $300 Million

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Multi-State Lottery Association has increased the official Mega Millions jackpot estimate for the drawing to be held August 8, 2017, due to strong sales across the country. The new estimated jackpot is $350 million ($218.3 million cash).

Mega Millions tickets cost $1 ($2 with the Megaplier option that increases non-jackpot prizes) and can be purchased at any West Virginia Lottery retailer up until 9:59 p.m. ET today.

The Wednesday, August 9, Powerball jackpot is currently an estimated $307 million with a $193.2 million cash value. This marks the first time that the two games have advertised jackpots that exceed the $300 million mark at the same time since cross-selling of the two games began in 2010.

Powerball tickets cost $2 ($3 with the Power Play option that increases non-jackpot prizes) and can be purchased up until 9:59 p.m. on draw dates.

Proceeds from the West Virginia Lottery go to benefit Education, Seniors and Tourism. Since 1986, the West Virginia Lottery has generated more than $9 Billion to support those good causes.
