Harrison County Woman Wins $40,000

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Brenda Cozard of Harrison County won $40,000 playing the West Virginia Lottery's Neon Showdown game. She claimed her prize at Lottery Headquarters in Charleston on Thursday.

“Oh my! I about had a heart attack when I scratched off that ticket,” Cozard said. “When I saw the $40,000 prize I didn't know what to do!”

Cozard is the sixth and final $40,000 winner from the Neon Showdown game that was ended on October 5th. Players have 180 days from a game's end date to claim any outstanding tickets.

Cozard says she plans to use her prize money to remodel her kitchen and purchase a new vehicle.
