Flurry Of Prizes Claimed

Two $25,000 Cash25 prizes, a $75,000 Mega Monopoly™ prize and a $30,000 Hot Lotto prize have been claimed by players, according to West Virginia Lottery Director John Musgrave.

The winners live in Spencer, Elkins, Rainelle, and Pagetown.

Nance Frances said she and a coworker at a floral shop in Pagetown will split their top Cash25 prize. She said the exact same numbers won them $250 nearly a year ago to the day.

Michael Starcher of Spencer said he had taken off for a long-planned fishing trip on Lake Erie the day he learned of his top $25,000 Cash25 prize. Starcher said he may make one adjustment to his travel plans. “I think I’m going to buy a bass boat on my way out of town.”

Eugene Covington of Rainelle bought a Hot Lotto ticket, “but had the presence of mind to buy the Sizzler multiplier.” Winning $10,000 for matching everything but the Hot Ball, Covington’s 3X Sizzler won him $30,000.

For his part, Bob Howell of Elkins said his $75,000 prize from the Mega Monopoly™ instant game, “will make a major difference in my life.” “My wife and I are going to pay off everything we owe. I bought a truck when I was 18 and haven’t been out of debt since.” Employed by a flooring company, Howell has three grown children and four grandchildren.
