First $300,000 Happy Birthday Second Chance Winner Claims Her Prize

CHARLESTON, W.Va. –Mason’s Lacey Varian claimed her $300,000 prize from the first Happy Birthday Second-Chanced Drawing, March 1.

Any non-winning $30 “Happy Birthday” instant tickets can be entered into the second chance drawings through the mail or online.

Varian, 21, was the top winner in the first round of drawings for those second chance tickets and said she had a lot of plans for the money.

“I want to pay off my debt and go to school, buy a house and get a new car and set myself up,” she said. “Then I’m going to just kind of help out my family because they’ve helped me so much.”

Winners of $30,000 from the first drawing were Ronnie White from Coal City and Tammy Anderson from Charleston. Ten other entrants won $3,000 each.

The second of the three drawings will take place on Apr. 20 for entries mailed in by Apr. 6 or submitted online by April 18, while the final round of entries are due on June 8 by mail and by June 20 (via online submission). The last drawing is set for June 22 when someone will win the grand prize of $1 million.
