Deadline For Deal Or No Deal Entries Feb. 4; Hurricane Resident Wins $100,000 Deal Or No Deal Prize

Nancy Burnett, 63, of Hurricane, has claimed the West Virginia Lottery’s sixth $100,000 cash prize from the Deal Or No Deal® instant game, according to Lottery Director John Musgrave. He said the ticket was purchased at Go Mart #8 in Teays Valley.

Burnett said the timing was beyond perfect. “Mom just got out of the hospital yesterday and I was sitting last night trying to figure out how I was going to pay her doctor bills. State workers have job security, but we don’t get paid much.” Employed by the Department of Health and Human
Resources, Burnett said her boss was as excited as she was. “She just couldn’t believe it; before I left, everyone in my department knew about it.”

The mother of one grown daughter and four grandchildren, Burnett said she would pay bills and put some of her winnings in savings.

Burnett’s winning ticket was one of two she bought on the way to work.

Musgrave said there are only a few weeks left in which to mail winning entry tickets for the Deal Or No Deal drawing scheduled for Feb. 6. “They have to be received by the Lottery by the end of our business day Feb. 4.” He said two $100,000 winning tickets remain to be claimed in the game.
