Charleston Woman Wins $100,000 Playing Golden Key

Charleston, W.Va. – West Virginia Lottery Director John Musgrave announced Wednesday that Jacqueline Richard of Charleston has claimed a $100,000 prize playing the West Virginia Lottery’s $10 instant game, Golden Key.

Richard, who works as a night auditor, bought the lucky ticket at the Bigley Market at 10 Spring Street West in Charleston.

“When I scratched off that ticket, I scratched from left to right and I knew I had won something when I scratched the next to last line and saw the numbers, but I had not scratched the prize amount below yet,” Richard said. “When I uncovered the $100,000 I just said you have got to be kidding me! I can’t believe it! It was a good day.”

Richard says she plays the lottery regularly and will buy several scratch off tickets every couple of weeks.

“I am going to use the money to pay off bills,” Richard says. “That will be a good feeling. I also want to buy a new TV and entertainment center.”

The Golden Key game still has one $100,000 top prize remaining.
