Northfork Resident Wins $15,000 on West Virginia Day

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – West Virginia Lottery Director John Musgrave announced the grand prize winner of the West Virginia Lottery’s “Celebrate 150” Second-Chance promotion today in conjunction with West Virginia’s Sesquicentennial celebration.  The $15,000 prizewinner is Rema King of Northfork, W.Va.

Ms. King, who says she plays the Cash 25 game regularly, was thrilled to have been chosen to celebrate this occasion in West Virginia’s history, saying, “This is wonderful—I love West Virginia!”

Throughout the month of June, The West Virginia Lottery is celebrating West Virginia’s 150th birthday with its “Celebrate 150” Second-Chance promotion.  West Virginia Cash 25 players could enter with a qualifying purchase between April 14th and May 18 of this year. On May 28th, thirty names were drawn from the thousands of entries and each winner is being announced daily throughout the month of June.

Each winner receives $150 and his or her name is announced on the West Virginia Lottery’s website, www.wvlottery.com, and during the nightly televised draw show.  The exception is the West Virginia Day winner (the 20th selection in the drawing that corresponds to the 20th of June – West Virginia’s 150th birthday) who receives the grand prize of $15,000.

When asked what she might do with her $15,000, Ms. King replied in true West Virginian spirit, saying that she would use some of her winnings to help others.

“I have a few people that I would like to help out a little bit,” King said.
