Shady Spring Woman Wins $30,000 Playing Bejeweled

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – West Virginia Lottery Director John C. Musgrave announced today that Ethel Hooper has claimed a $30,000 top prize playing the lottery’s $3 instant game Bejeweled.

“This is great and it couldn’t have come at a better time,” Hooper said. “We couldn’t believe it and looked at it and counted the diamonds over and over before going into the store to have it scanned.”

Ethel, and her husband Dewy, purchased the winning ticket at the Quick Check #3 on Ritter Drive in Shady Spring.

The couple has been married for 51 years and they have no immediate plans for their winnings.
